Superset Consulting Requirements A prominent financial services firm sought to transition away from an industry-leading commercial BI solution for one of its core products, opting instead for an Open Source system (Superset) to achieve significant savings on license costs.
Deliverables NobleProg engaged in multiple project meetings with the client to gain a comprehensive understanding of the requirements, scope, risks, and technical environment. Based on these discussions, we developed a detailed Statement of Work to guide and track the project's progress. Our lead consultant worked closely to align the existing data architecture with the specific reporting needs of each report type. To ensure optimal performance and maximize the utility of Superset, the NobleProg lead consultant recommended adjustments to the data stores and provided strategic guidance to the team responsible for implementing these changes. Once the data store and data pipeline were optimized, our consultants began constructing and deploying various reports based on established requirements as well as new requests from the business and end customers. To facilitate the presentation of data as requested, several custom plug-ins were developed to enable more interactive data visualization, including features such as drill-down capabilities.
Outcome The consultants have continued to build new dashboards while ensuring that sufficient knowledge transfer occurs within the customer organization, enabling them to maintain the dashboards and reports independently.
The project is currently ongoing and has been favorably received by both the client’s business units and their end clients. Highlighting the project's success, it has since been expanded and extended to encompass additional products and end clients.
